La Plata County

La Plata County, COLa Plata County is home to nearly 60,000 people and is a diverse county characterized by stunning views and notably has four rivers that flow through it. It is named for the La Plata River and La Plata Mountains, both of which are named for the Spanish word for “silver”, and includes the City of Durango, Town of Bayfield, Town of Ignacio, as well as the Southern Ute Tribe.
