HomesFund of Southwest Colorado

HomesFund has been helping families achieve home ownership in Southwest Colorado since 2008 in three steps:

  1. Take a course: Their free homebuyer education classes are a great way to start on the road to homeownership.
  2. Visit with a Homeownership Advisor: HomesFund provides a free home ownership assessment to help you determine if homeownership is right for you, what steps to take next, and answer any questions you may have.
  3. Receive Mortgage Assistance: Buying a home in southwest Colorado is expensive! Once you are prepared to purchase your home, they can assist you with down payment assistance and several mortgage products offered.

Housing Solutions for the Southwest

Housing Solutions was formed in 1981 and first operated under the name Southwest Community Resources. Today we operate multiple programs, all housing-related, to help people in Southwest Colorado who are struggling to meet their basic housing needs. They work in Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma, and San Juan Counties.

Programs include rental assistance voucher programs, transitional living programs, emergency homeless prevention, and housing counseling for qualifying individuals or families. We are the only HUD-certified counseling agency that assists people with mortgage modification and foreclosure prevention. Also, we have multiple programs for people of different income levels including homebuyer and credit counseling, weatherization services, and housing rehabilitation. Depending on income, these services may be at no cost or be through a low-interest loan.
